Dr. Kapil Loomba did B.D.S. in 1983 and
completed MDS (Conservative Dentistry and
Endodontics) in 1986 from one of the oldest,
world famous King Georges Medical College
(erstwhile UP King Georges University of
Dental Sciences), Lucknow; and joined as
Senior Demonstrator in same year and
department. He wa sthe first to be selected
by UP Public Service Commission as Assistant
Professor in 1989, he continued to serve his
almamator as Professor and Senior
Consultant, GMAH, Chhatrapati Shahuji
Maharaj Medical University, Lucknow, before
taking premature retirement, after more than
22 years of teaching exerience and patient
care.
He is the only member from the fraternity to
be on the Panel of Empowered and High Power
Committee to screen and sanction permission
to new Medical, Dental, Paramedical and
Nursing Colleges. He is the only Endodontist
representing North India, in the South Asian
advisory Board of Endodontics, cited in the
Endodontic Book for PGs, Pathways of Pulp by
Cohen.
In the erstwhile Dental University, UPKGUDS,
First in India, served as Information
Officer, Member-Secretary of Ethics
Committee, Spokes-Person of the University,
and in charge Vehicle-Pool.
Academically, he is Fellow, Pierre Fauchard
Academy, and was awarded Best Research Grant
Award in 1987. Besides this, he has many
International and National Publications in
renowned Journals, a chapter in book
published by IGNOU for Certificate courses
in Endodontics. He has also been guide and
co-guide in many dissertations/thesis. He
has also been President, IDA, Lucknow branch
and Vice-President, Federation of Operative
Dentistry of India and Indian Endodontic
Society. He was also a member of WHO team
and organising committees of various
Conferences and Camps. He participated in
Debates, NCC, Culturual, and Gymnatics, as a
college team member and associated with
drama society, AIR and TV net-working.
