Ragging...
 

..... means noisy display of disorderly conduct. Doing any act which causes or is likely to cause physical or psychological harms or raise apprehension or fear o shame or embarrassment to student and includes teasing or abscessing or playing practical jokes on, or causing hurt to such student or asking, student will not in the ordinary course willing to do.

..... includes orders to address seniors as SIR. To perform mass drills or copy class notes for the seniors to do some various errands, to do menial jobs for the seniors. To ask / answer vulgar questions to look at pornographic pictures, to shock the fresher out of their innocence, or force to drink alcohol, scalding tea etc. or smoke cigarette etc. Force to do acts with sexual overtones, including homosexual acts. Force to do acts that can lead to physical injury/mental torture or death, to strip or kiss etc. or other obscenities.

..... is legally penalizable/punishable, whoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in above or propagates RAGGING, within or outside CPGIDSH. The management or victim/s or their parents/guardian can lodge FIR, leading to punishment with imprisonment up to 3 years & liable for fine up to Rs.25,000/- along with dismissal from CPGIDSH.

..... can result in (as established by the Disciplinary Committee or the Court of Law) Cancellation of admission, Suspension from attending classes, Withholding/Withdrawing Scholarship/Fellowship/other benefits. Debarring from appearing in Professionals/Terminals, viva voice etc., withholding results, prohibition on representing CPGIDSH in any met, tournament, Youth festival etc. Suspension / Expulsion from the hostel / institute, denial of admission in any other institution, fine up to Rs.25,000/-, Rigorous imprisonment up to three years (only by the court).

In accordance with the orders/instructions directions given by Hon'able Supreme Court of India and Ministry of Human Resources Department (Dept. of Higher Education) Government of India and Dental Council of India...

"Any incident of ragging comes to the notice of the authorities, the
concerned student shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her
explanation is not found satisfactory, the authority would expel him."

There was neither any report nor any case of ragging was detected in the
academic years 2007-2008, 2008-2009.
